Freedom?

Visdom
“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” (Benjamin Franklin, Memoirs of the life & writings of Benjamin Franklin)

"We Americans have no commission from God to police the world." (Benjamin Harrison, USA:s president 1889-1893)

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." (Theodore Roosevelt, USA:s president 1901-1909)

Självinsikt
"America is best described by one word, freedom." (Dwight D. Eisenhower, USA:s president 1953-1961)

"We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around. And that makes us special among the nations of the earth." (Ronald Reagan, USA:s president 1981-1989)

"The United States is the best and fairest and most decent nation on the face of the earth." (George H.W. Bush, USA:s president 1989-1993)

Profetior
“Information is the oxygen of the modern age. It seeps through the walls topped by barbed wire, it wafts across the electrified borders. ... The Goliath of totalitarianism will be brought down by the David of the microchip”. (Ronald Reagan, USA:s president 1981-1989)

“When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more”. (John Adams, USA:s president 1797-1801)
